The Surgeon Well-Being Program of the American College of Surgeons
Dr. Norman Rowe is a board-certified plastic surgeon in private practice in New York City. Among his other professional affiliations, Dr. Norman Rowe is an active member of the American College of Surgeons.
Addressing the fact that 52 percent of surgeons experience burnout, the American College of Surgeons spearheads initiatives to combat this condition, as well as the workplace stress, physical exhaustion, phycological disconnection, and professional inefficacy that go along with it. The organization addresses the health and well-being of surgeons through a range of educational resources and advocacy measures.
The Surgeon Well-Being Program of the American College of Surgeons is dedicated to the adverse effects of burnout among surgeons while simultaneously fighting the stigma that surrounds burnout and advocating for systematic changes at all levels of government and industry influence. The Surgeon Well-Being Program also endeavors to diagnose the signs of unhealthy workplace environments and support healthy work-life integration.
